YouTube Course Progress Tracker

Add the YouTube courses you're working through and see each one's progress, the next video to watch, how much time is left and your daily streak.

What is a YouTube course tracker?

A course tracker keeps your place in several YouTube playlists at once. Each course gets a card with a progress bar, the next video you haven't watched, and how much time is left at your playback speed.

YouTube doesn't remember where you stopped in a playlist, so learners following a DSA course, a language series and a few lecture playlists end up scrolling to find their spot. The tracker stores everything in your own browser, with no account, and counts a daily streak to keep you going. Because it shares its watched list with the playlist length calculator and the study planner, a video ticked in one place shows as watched everywhere on the site.

How to use the Course Progress Tracker

  1. 1.Add your courses

Paste a playlist link and press Track. Add as many courses as you're taking; each gets its own card.

  2. 2.Watch and tick

Open the next video from its card and press Mark watched when you're done, or open All videos to tick any of them.

  3. 3.Come back tomorrow

Your courses and progress are saved in this browser. Watch at least one video a day to build your streak, and back up to move to another device.

Example: two courses side by side

Suppose you track a 120-video DSA course and a 30-video Spanish course, with your speed set to 1.25x.

DSA course
45 of 120 watched · 38% · 31 h 10 min left at 1.25x
Spanish course
12 of 30 watched · 40% · 4 h 2 min left at 1.25x
Next up
the first unwatched video of each course
Streak
5 days if you've ticked at least one video each day

Press Mark watched after the next video and both the percentage and the time left update straight away.

Keep every course in one place

YouTube doesn't remember where you are in a playlist, and it's easy to lose track when you're following a DSA course, a language series and a few lectures at once. The tracker keeps them side by side with a progress bar, the next unwatched video and the time left at your playback speed.

Everything is stored in your browser's local storage, not on a server, so there's no account and nothing to sign in to. Videos you tick in the playlist length calculator or study planner show up here too. Use Back up to save a file you can restore on another browser or device.

Frequently asked questions

Where is my progress saved?

In your browser's local storage on this device. Nothing is sent to a server. Clearing your browser's site data or using a private window removes it, so press Back up now and then to keep a copy.

Can I use it on my phone and laptop?

Progress doesn't sync on its own because there's no account. Press Back up on one device, send yourself the file, and press Restore on the other. Restoring adds to what's already there rather than replacing it.

What happens when a course adds new videos?

Press Refresh on the course card. The playlist is read again and new videos are added, and the ones you've watched stay ticked.

How does the streak work?

Each day you mark at least one video as watched counts. The streak is how many days in a row you've done that, and it stays alive until the end of today if you watched something yesterday.

Is it connected to the playlist length calculator?

Yes. Ticking a video in the calculator, the study planner or the tracker marks it watched everywhere on the site, as long as it's the same browser.
