YouTube Playlist Analyzer

Paste a playlist link to see its total length, views, likes and engagement, its best videos, which channels it draws from and when they were uploaded.

What is a YouTube playlist analyzer?

A playlist analyzer adds up a playlist's public numbers so you can judge it as a whole: total and median length, combined views, likes and comments, and the engagement rate across every playable video.

It then ranks the top videos by views, likes, comments or engagement, shows how many videos and views each contributing channel brings, and groups the videos by the year they were uploaded. That makes it useful for comparing two courses on the same subject, checking whether a tutorial series is out of date, or seeing which episodes of your own series did best. Deleted and private videos are counted separately so they don't distort the averages.

How to analyze a YouTube playlist

  1. 1.Paste the playlist link

Paste a course, a series or any public or unlisted playlist and press Analyze. Views and lengths load first for all of its videos.

  2. 2.Wait for likes and comments

Views and lengths show straight away; likes and comments for each video load right after.

  3. 3.Rank and compare

Rank the top videos by views, likes, comments or engagement, and see the breakdown by channel and upload year.

Example: engagement for a whole playlist

Say the playable videos in a playlist have these totals between them.

Views
1,200,000
Likes
36,000
Comments
4,800
Engagement rate
3.4%

engagement rate = (likes + comments) ÷ views

(36,000 + 4,800) ÷ 1,200,000 = 0.034, or 3.4%. The top videos table shows the same rate for each video, for those with at least 1,000 views.

What the analysis covers

The totals cover every playable video: combined length, views, likes and comments, the average and median video length, and the overall engagement rate, which is likes plus comments divided by views. Deleted and private videos are counted separately and left out of the numbers.

For playlists built from several channels, the channel breakdown shows who contributed how many videos, how much watch time and how many views. The upload-year table shows how old the material is, which matters for courses and tutorials.

Frequently asked questions

How is the engagement rate calculated?

Likes plus comments, divided by views, for every playable video in the playlist together. Each video's own rate is in the top videos table.

Why are some videos missing from the engagement ranking?

Only videos with at least 1,000 views are ranked by engagement, so a few likes on a barely watched video don't put it at the top.

How is this different from the playlist length calculator and health check?

The length calculator is for watch time and tracking progress; the health check finds deleted, private and repeated videos and estimates drop-off. The analyzer adds likes, comments, engagement, top videos and the channel and year breakdowns.

Are the numbers live?

They're read from YouTube when you press Analyze. YouTube can update view counts with a short delay, and some channels hide their like counts.
