YouTube Playlist Length Calculator

Paste a playlist link to get its total duration, the watch time at any speed, and the length of every video.

What is a YouTube playlist length calculator?

A playlist length calculator adds up the running time of every video in a YouTube playlist and tells you the total. YouTube itself shows only the number of videos, which says little when one course has 12-minute lessons and another has 90-minute lectures.

This one also divides the total by your playback speed, lets you narrow it to a range such as videos 10 to 40, and lets you tick off what you've watched so the remaining time updates. Students use it to size up a course before starting, and anyone with a long podcast or lecture backlog uses it to decide whether it fits into the week.

How to use the Playlist Length Calculator

  1. 1.Copy the playlist link

Open the playlist on YouTube and copy the URL. Any link that contains "list=" works, including a video playing inside a playlist.

  2. 2.Paste and calculate

Paste it into the box above and press Calculate. Every video in the playlist is counted, however long it is.

  3. 3.Adjust and track

Narrow it to a range of videos, change the playback speed and tick off videos as you watch them to see how much is left.

Example: a 48-video course

Say a programming course has 48 videos, two of them deleted, and the 46 playable ones run 21 hours 36 minutes in total.

Playable videos
46 (2 marked unavailable)
Total at 1x
21 h 36 min
Total at 1.5x
14 h 24 min
Total at 2x
10 h 48 min
Videos 1–20 only, at 1x
the sum of just those 20 videos

time at speed = total duration ÷ playback speed

At 1.5x and an hour a day, that's 15 days of watching. The study planner turns the same playlist into the actual day-by-day list.

Why check a playlist's length first

YouTube shows how many videos a playlist has, but not how long it takes to watch. For a course, a lecture series or a podcast backlog, that number decides whether you finish this week or next month.

The calculator adds up the duration of every video, skips deleted and private ones, and shows the result at 1x through 2x speed or any custom speed. When you know the total, the study planner can turn it into a daily schedule.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find the total length of a YouTube playlist?

Copy the playlist link from YouTube, paste it into the box above and press Calculate. The tool adds up the duration of every available video and shows the total.

Does it work with playlists that have hundreds of videos?

Yes. The calculator reads the whole playlist page by page, so playlists with hundreds or thousands of videos are counted completely. A progress bar shows how far it has got.

Can I calculate the length of only part of a playlist?

Yes. After calculating, set the From and To video numbers. The totals, the speed table and the study plan update to cover only that range.

How long does a playlist take at 1.5x or 2x speed?

The tool divides the total duration by the playback speed. Presets cover 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x and 2x, and you can type any custom speed between 0.25x and 4x.

Can I export the list of videos?

Yes. The CSV button downloads every video in the selected range with its position, title, channel, duration and link.

Why are some videos marked unavailable?

Deleted and private videos stay in a playlist but have no duration. They are listed as unavailable and left out of the totals.
