YouTube CPM & RPM by Country

See roughly how much a long-video view is worth by the viewer's country, and estimate your RPM from where your audience lives.

What are YouTube CPM and RPM by country?

CPM is what advertisers pay for 1,000 ad impressions, and RPM is what a creator earns per 1,000 views after YouTube's share. Both depend heavily on where viewers live, because advertisers pay more to reach people in countries with higher online spending.

This page groups countries into four rough tiers with a typical long-video RPM range for each, searchable by country name. Enter the share of your audience in each tier, from YouTube Studio's Audience tab, and it works out a blended RPM range for your channel. YouTube doesn't publish these figures, so the ranges are unofficial ones based on what creators commonly report, and your niche can move them up or down several times over.

How to use the country tiers

  1. 1.Find your viewers' countries

In YouTube Studio, open Analytics, then Audience, to see where your viewers are.

  2. 2.Look up the tiers

Find each country's tier in the table, or search for a country by name.

  3. 3.Estimate your RPM

Enter your audience's share in each tier to get a rough RPM range for your channel.

Example: a mixed audience

Say 40% of a channel's views come from the highest tier, 20% from the high tier and 40% from the lower tier.

Highest ($3 – $10)
40%
High ($1.50 – $5)
20%
Lower ($0.10 – $0.80)
40%
Blended RPM
$1.54 – $5.32

blended RPM = Σ (tier share × tier RPM)

Low end: 0.4 × 3 + 0.2 × 1.5 + 0.4 × 0.1 = 1.54. High end: 0.4 × 10 + 0.2 × 5 + 0.4 × 0.8 = 5.32.

Why the country matters

Advertisers pay more to reach viewers in countries where people spend more online, so a view from the United States or Norway is usually worth many times a view from India or Indonesia, even on the same video. The tiers group countries by that rough level.

The ranges are broad, unofficial figures for general-interest long videos, built from what creators commonly report. YouTube doesn't publish CPM or RPM by country, and your topic can move the numbers up or down several times. Your channel's real RPM is in YouTube Studio.

Frequently asked questions

Which country has the highest YouTube CPM?

Countries like the United States, Australia, Norway, Switzerland and Germany are usually near the top. The exact order changes with the season and the niche.

What's the difference between CPM and RPM?

CPM is what advertisers pay per 1,000 ad impressions. RPM is what you earn per 1,000 views after YouTube's 45% share of long-video ad revenue and counting views with no ads, so RPM is always lower than CPM.

Why is my RPM lower than these ranges?

Your niche, video length, how many views get ads, and the time of year all count. December usually pays most and January least.

Where can I see my real CPM and RPM?

In YouTube Studio, under Analytics, then Revenue, once your channel is in the Partner Program.
