Frequently asked questions
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The tools decode and redraw images with your browser's own canvas, so your files stay on your device. The only downloads are a HEIC decoder when you add an iPhone photo, and the OCR engine and language model the first time you extract text.
Which image formats can I open?
JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP everywhere, plus iPhone HEIC and HEIF photos, which are converted in the browser when it can't show them itself.
Is there a size limit?
Up to 50 MB and 50 megapixels per image, which covers photos from any phone or most cameras. Very large images can be slow on older phones.
Do the tools keep EXIF data like location?
Images that are re-saved don't keep EXIF data, so the camera model and GPS location are removed. Keep your originals if you need that information.
