What is a PDF signing tool?
A PDF signing tool lets you put your handwritten signature on a PDF without a printer or scanner. You create the signature once, place it on the right line, and save a copy of the document with the signature stamped onto the page.
Here you can draw the signature, type your name in a script style, or upload a photo of it, with the paper background removed automatically. Drag it anywhere on any page, resize it, add the date underneath, or apply it to every page. Rotated pages are handled so the signature always appears upright. The signed PDF is created in your browser; neither the document nor your signature leaves your device.
How to use the Sign PDF
1.Choose the PDF
Open the document you need to sign.
2.Make your signature
Draw it with a finger, mouse or pen, type your name in a handwriting style, or upload a photo of your signature on white paper.
3.Place it and download
Pick the page, drag the signature into position, set its size, optionally add the date, and download the signed PDF.
Example: signing an A4 letter
A signature at the default size on an A4 page, with the date added:
- Page width
- 595.28 pt (210 mm)
- Signature width
- 25% = 148.8 pt (52.5 mm)
- Date text height
- 1.8% of the width = 10.7 pt
- Default position
- 60% from the left, 80% from the top
The signature is about 5 cm wide, a natural size for a signature line, with the date in 10.7 pt Helvetica just beneath it.
Electronic signature, not a digital certificate
This adds a picture of your signature to the page, the same as printing, signing and scanning but without the paper. Many offices, landlords and employers accept that for everyday forms. It is not a certificate-based digital signature (like Aadhaar eSign or a DSC token), which proves who signed and that nothing changed afterwards; documents such as tax filings and company registrations need those.
Uploaded signature photos have their white paper made transparent, so the signature sits cleanly over lines and boxes.
Frequently asked questions
Is an image signature legally valid?
For many agreements in India and elsewhere, an electronic signature is accepted when both parties agree, but some documents legally require a certified digital signature. Check with whoever asked you to sign.
Can I sign every page?
Yes. Tick Sign every page in the same spot, which is handy for initialling each page of a contract.
Is my signature saved anywhere?
No. It exists only in this browser tab and disappears when you close it.
Can I move the signature with the keyboard?
Yes. Tab to the signature on the page and use the arrow keys; each press moves it 1% of the page.
