Instagram Caption Generator

Stuck on what to write under a post? Describe it in a few words, choose a tone and an ending, and get six caption starters to copy and make your own.

What is an Instagram caption generator?

An Instagram caption generator gives you a starting point for the text under a post or Reel. Most creators know what they want to say but lose time on the first line; a few ready openings in the right tone make it quicker to write something that sounds natural.

This generator combines your topic and optional detail with templates in four tones, adds the call to action you choose, and can append hashtags made from your topic words. It shows six ideas with their character counts against Instagram's 2,200 limit, and More ideas rotates the openings and endings. Emoji can be switched off.

How to use the Instagram Caption Generator

  1. 1.Describe the post

A few words on the topic, and optionally a tip, detail or story to include.

  2. 2.Pick a tone and ending

Casual, professional, funny or inspiring; then ask people to save, comment, share, follow or tap your link.

  3. 3.Copy and personalise

Press More ideas for different openings, copy the one you like, and edit it in your own voice.

Example: a recipe Reel

Topic "monsoon chai recipes", a ginger tip, casual tone, ask to save:

Opening
Okay, let's talk about monsoon chai recipes 🙌
Detail
Add a pinch of ginger and let it simmer for 2 minutes.
Ending
Save this for later 📌
Hashtags
#monsoon #chai #recipes #monsoonchai #chairecipes

A short, friendly caption with a clear ask, ready to tweak; recipes and tips get saved more when you ask directly.

What makes a caption work

Instagram shows only about the first 125 characters before "more", so the opening line has to earn the tap. Lead with the hook, the surprising fact or the question, not with "Hey guys". Put the useful detail next, and end with one clear request; asking for saves suits tips and recipes, comments suit questions and opinions.

Short line breaks make captions easier to read on a phone. Keep hashtags to the end, and to the five that Instagram now allows.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an AI caption writer?

No. It fills hand-written templates with your words, in your browser, so nothing is sent anywhere and results are instant.

How long can an Instagram caption be?

Up to 2,200 characters, though only the first line or two show before "more".

Should hashtags go in the caption or a comment?

Either works the same for discovery. The caption keeps them together with the post, which is simpler.

Can I use these captions on other apps?

Yes. The same ideas suit Facebook, Threads and LinkedIn; check each app's length limits.
