CAT 2026 Countdown

Days, hours and minutes until CAT 2026 on Sunday, 29 November, conducted by IIM Indore for admission to the IIMs and hundreds of other B-schools.

What is the CAT countdown?

The CAT countdown shows how long is left before the Common Admission Test, the entrance exam for MBA and PGP programmes at the Indian Institutes of Management, also accepted by many other business schools.

CAT is held once a year, on a single Sunday in late November, so there's no second chance in the same cycle. This page counts down to the first slot of CAT 2026 at 8:30 am IST, with the official date badge, and lists the other big exams below. In the final weeks, the number of days left is a useful guide to how many full mocks you can still take and review properly.

How to use the CAT 2026 Countdown

  1. 1.Watch the time left

The timer counts to the 8:30 am IST start of the first slot.

  2. 2.Check your slot

CAT runs in three slots on the same day; your slot and centre are on your admit card.

  3. 3.Plan the last weeks

Alternate full mocks with sectional practice in your weakest area.

Example: the last four weeks

From 1 November 2026 to the exam:

Days left
28
Full mocks at 2 a week
8 more
Review time per mock
about as long as the test itself
Rest day before the exam
Saturday, 28 November

Four weeks is enough for eight mocks if each is properly analysed; more tests without review rarely help.

CAT pattern

CAT is a two-hour computer-based test in three sections, each with its own 40-minute timer: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Ability (QA). You can't move between sections, so pacing inside each one matters.

Results are given as percentiles. IIMs and other schools shortlist on overall and sectional percentiles together with academics and work experience.
