Pregnancy Due Date Calculator

Find your estimated due date, how many weeks and days pregnant you are today, which trimester you're in, and when the main scans and milestones fall.

What is a pregnancy due date calculator?

A pregnancy due date calculator estimates the day your baby is expected, known as the estimated date of delivery (EDD). It also tells you how far along you are, in weeks and days, which is how doctors describe pregnancy and plan scans and check-ups.

This calculator uses Naegele's rule from your last menstrual period, adjusted for your cycle length, or counts from a conception or IVF embryo transfer date. It shows your due date, how many weeks pregnant you are today, your trimester and days to go, and lists the dates of key milestones such as the anomaly scan and full term.

How to use the Pregnancy Due Date Calculator

  1. 1.Choose how to calculate

From the first day of your last period, the date of conception, or an IVF day-3 or day-5 transfer.

  2. 2.Enter the date

For last period, also enter your usual cycle length.

  3. 3.See your timeline

Due date, weeks pregnant, days to go, and dates for key weeks.

Example: last period on 1 September 2026

With a regular 28-day cycle:

Due date
1 Sep 2026 + 280 days = Tuesday, 8 June 2027
On 4 November 2026
9 weeks 1 day, first trimester
With a 32-day cycle instead
Saturday, 12 June 2027 (+4 days)
Full term starts (37 weeks)
18 May 2027

Due date = first day of last period + 280 days + (cycle length − 28)

A longer cycle pushes the date later; an early scan may refine it further.

How the due date is worked out

Pregnancy is counted from the first day of your last period, about two weeks before conception, and lasts 280 days, or 40 weeks, on average. This is Naegele's rule. For cycles longer or shorter than 28 days, the date moves by the difference, because ovulation happens later or earlier.

From a known conception date, the due date is 266 days later. After IVF it's 263 days after a day-3 transfer and 261 days after a day-5 transfer.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is a due date?

It's an estimate. Only about 4% of babies are born on their due date; most arrive between 37 and 42 weeks.

Why does my scan give a different date?

An early ultrasound measures the baby directly, and doctors usually go by it if it differs from the period-based date by more than a few days.

When does each trimester start?

The first runs to the end of week 13, the second from week 14 to the end of week 27, and the third from week 28.

Is my information stored?

No. The date stays in your browser and in the page link, which only you see unless you share it.
