JEE Main 2027 Countdown

Days, hours and minutes to JEE Main 2027 Session 1, switching to Session 2 once January's papers begin.

What is the JEE Main countdown?

The JEE Main countdown shows the time left until the Joint Entrance Examination (Main), the national engineering entrance test conducted by the National Testing Agency. Lakhs of students sit it each year for seats at NITs, IIITs and other institutes, and to qualify for JEE Advanced.

JEE Main happens in two sessions, in January and April. This timer counts to the first paper of the next session at 9:00 am IST, shows whether the date is official, and moves to Session 2 automatically after Session 1 begins. A list of other exams sits underneath for students taking more than one.

How to use the JEE Main 2027 Countdown

  1. 1.Watch the timer

It counts to 9:00 am IST on the first day of the next session.

  2. 2.Check your own date

NTA gives each candidate a date and shift on the admit card; the countdown shows the start of the window.

  3. 3.Plan your revision

Split the days left between the three subjects and full mock tests.

Example: planning from 1 December 2026

Time left to Session 1 on 20 January 2027:

Days left
50
Weeks left
7 weeks and 1 day
Mock tests at 3 a week
about 21 before the exam
Session 2 starts
2 April 2027

Fifty days leaves room for one focused revision pass of each subject plus regular full mocks, with Session 2 as a second chance.

JEE Main at a glance

Paper 1, for B.E. and B.Tech, is a three-hour computer-based test with 75 questions: 25 each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, for 300 marks. A correct answer earns 4 marks and a wrong one loses 1. Paper 2 is for B.Arch and B.Planning.

You can sit both sessions, and your better NTA score counts. The score decides admission to NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded institutes, and the top candidates qualify for JEE Advanced, the route into the IITs.
