Exam Countdown

Every major entrance and recruitment exam on one board, sorted by what's coming up next, with the days left updating live.

What is an exam countdown?

An exam countdown shows exactly how much preparation time is left before a big exam. Seeing the number of days, not just the month, makes it easier to set realistic weekly goals and to notice when revision needs to start.

This board tracks India's most-taken competitive exams: JEE Main for engineering, NEET UG for medicine, CAT for management, GATE for postgraduate engineering and PSU jobs, and UPSC Civil Services Prelims. Each shows its next date, whether that date is official or still expected, and the days remaining, updating live in your browser.

How to use the Exam Countdown

  1. 1.Find your exam

Exams are listed in the order they're coming up.

  2. 2.Open its countdown

Tap the name for a full-screen timer down to the second, with the exam's details.

  3. 3.Plan backwards

Use the days left to set weekly targets, then build a timetable with the study timetable maker.

Example: days left from 1 January 2027

Counting from New Year's Day 2027:

GATE 2027 (6 Feb)
36 days
JEE Main Session 2 (2 Apr)
91 days
NEET UG 2027 (2 May, expected)
121 days
UPSC Prelims 2027 (23 May)
142 days

On that day, GATE candidates have about five weeks left, while UPSC aspirants still have about twenty.

Where the dates come from

Each date is taken from the conducting body's announcement: NTA for JEE Main and NEET UG, the IIMs for CAT, the organising IIT for GATE and UPSC's annual calendar for the Civil Services Prelims. Dates that haven't been announced yet are marked as expected and estimated from past years, and are replaced once the official notice is out.

Countdowns run to the start of the first paper in Indian time, so they're right wherever you are.

Frequently asked questions

How often are the dates updated?

Whenever an exam body announces or changes a date. The panel shows the day they were last checked.

Why does an exam say expected?

Its conducting body hasn't announced the date yet, so the countdown uses the usual pattern, such as NEET on the first Sunday of May.

My exam runs over several days. Which one is counted?

The first day of the exam window. Your own date and shift are on your admit card.
